Repatriation
When a Loved One Dies in the UK for Forwarding Abroad
At Smith Yeatman we understand the need of families and friends to send a loved one ‘home’ to their final resting place. Equally, we know the difficulties faced by those whose loved one dies whilst in the UK on business or holiday.
Our long experience enables us to deal with all the practicalities so that you can focus on your own ‘grief journey’.
Our service is a full repatriation service, handling everything from removing and preparing the deceased for travel and arranging transportation, to liaising with the funeral director of your choice or one of our respected agents in the destination country.
A funeral service can even be arranged in the UK prior to travel, whilst we can also arrange for the travel arrangements of those who may be accompanying the deceased, often at preferential rates.
Our services include the following:
- All the normal services for a funeral in this country including:
- Appointment of your own Personal Funeral Adviser
- Organising the registration of the death
- Removal of the body from any location to a Chapel of Rest
- Supply of Coffin or Urn
- Facilities for religion specific requirements such as washing rites
- Arranging cars, conductor and bearers
- Arranging the service if required in this country
- Arranging and communicating with the receiving Funeral Director
- Arranging all the necessary paperwork to export the body, including visiting the relevant embassies and arranging the necssary translations
- Arranging all the flights including those of the relatives at special prices
- Arranging the sealing of the coffin and the presevation of the body
- Arranging all the flight documentation and the necessary clearances in the country of destination
Your Personal Funeral Adviser will keep you and your relatives informed of the progress throughout the process.
